The Government of Vanuatu is seeking to appoint an expert consultant to lead the review of existing National ICT Policy, the Universal Access Policy (UAP) and the Cyber Security Policy and developing new policies to address new identified needs.

This role will provide the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) under the Ministry of the Prime Minister as Minister responsible for ICT, Telecommunication and Broadcasting with a resource responsible to strengthen ICT policy, regulation and legislative framework.

This will ensure that ICT development continues to reflect world best practices, and is suitable for the goals and context of Vanuatu based on the National Sustainable Development Plan – the People’s Plan. The consultant will work in close collaboration with many government entities including the office of the Telecommunication, Radiocommunications and Broadcasting Regulator. This position reports to the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer.

The position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Office of the Government CIO (OGCIO) were established by the Vanuatu Council of Ministers on 23 November 2011, in decision number 109-2011. OGCIO was made part of the Prime Minister’s Office.
